If you have purchased a property with only one bathroom then you may decide that you want to install a second one. If your only bathroom is currently located downstairs then adding a second bathroom upstairs can not only make it more practical but can also add value to your property. You need to think carefully about why you want to install as second bathroom and where it will be as converting a bedroom in to a second bathroom can devalue the house as you are losing an essential part of the home. If you want a bathroom downstairs then using space that is currently wasted or not used such as under a stairs is often a great idea. You may not be able to create a full bathroom but even having a toilet and a sink will make it a lot better.
If you are changing your home in order to sell it then it is advisable to get a few local estate agents out to value your home and tell you how the changes you plan on making will affect the resale value. If you do go ahead with the renovation then it is wise to not spend too much on the fixtures and fittings as you are unlikely to get that back when it comes to selling the house.
